Eagle Raceway (NE) - Hobby Stock #29

 Awards & Accomplishments
I ran ten shows in 2009. We qualified for 2 A Features straight from the heats in our first five weeks. Our best finish was 12th. Made the A from the B Feature on two other nights and have passed some good cars here and there. We have led some laps and ran well at times. Even held the Track Champion off for a lap or two.

 Career Summary
I have been a race fan my whole life. Grew up two blocks from Adams County Speedway in Corning, Iowa. Saw the best Late Model drivers around in the 70's and 80's there - Kosiskis, Chase, Martin, Robey, Holliman, Wancewicz, Jackson, and many others. Also frequented Playland and Sunset. Had a ten-week ride in a terrific old Python (now Vision) Midget the summer of 2000. Finally decided I had better get into Stock Cars before the Social Security kicks in! The guys in this class have been very good to us, and so far it's been tons of FUN! The competition is very talented and we have a lot to learn. I'm sitting out the 2010 season and it SUCKS, thank goodness we have been invited to help with Joey Danley's #14 SportMod and Leighton Fintell's #76 Sport Compact.

 Racing Goals
We started with a simple goal to finish races. Then set them a little higher by wanting to get into an A Feature through our heat. Now out new goal is to get back in the driver's seat as soon as possible. Anyone got a ride to offer?

 Other Interesting Team Information
The number 29 has always been near to me for several reasons. It was on the first Midget car I bought from Don Sheard. It also happens to be my and my daughter's birthdate.

We spent many hours in the winter months leading up to the 2009 season. We took an used old Hobby Stock completely apart. Redone. Refitted. Rearranged. And repainted. Car looked great for the first practice - decals, paint, even painted the rims. It was sharp! I loaded it on the trailer at the house and raked the whole right side from nose to B-pillar on the trailer side rail supports. So much for the Best appearing Car Award!
