Rain forced Dawson County Raceway promoter Allen Wissmann to make the painful decision to call off the August 27 races. It was to be the final night of racing. However, there has been a tentative rain date set for Sunday, September 17. More accurate details will be released when available.

I guess the question is will the night be sanctioned for IMCA points? None of the other promoters have had any luck for make up races. |

Red Cloud wanted to run a makeup race on the 17th but IMCA wouldn't let them since Lex is running that night and gets priority since Sunday's their regular night, so I'd bet it's for IMCA points. |

Just wanted to let everyone know that we will run the makeup race on September 17th. It will be for track & IMCA points as the final night for IMCA points is Sept. 24th. This will be our last attempt to get championship night in. I've been talking with IMCA and with the Speed Bowl promoters to work out times that will work for the majority of racers. With harvest looming near we want to get the final race in as soon as possible yet be able to get a car count and a crowd in the grandstands. There is still bills to pay. There is a handful of drivers that have raced at both tracks but not on a nightly basis. Those drivers will have to make a decision on which track they want to run. Doesn't make since to sacrifice a racenight for 40-50 drivers who compete nightly to satisfy a few. When I get the final details worked out I will post something to let everyone know. Thank you for your patience.
