For anyone who hasn't already heard, since it hasn't been posted yet, I'm sad to have to report the news that long-time racer Marv Reagle, age 59, from rural Valentine NE passed away Saturday night in a 2 vehicle collision on highway 83 north of Valentine. I don't know many details yet so I won't post anything other than there was very thick fog that night which I'm sure contributed to the accident.
Marv and/or his son Tyler have been competitors at North Platte, Lexington, Winner SD, Rapid City, JMS, and other tracks in the past several years in both the modified and latemodel divisions, including many races with the CNCTA series that Tyler ran. Marv had been involved in racing since the '55-57 Chevy days, with lots of track championships under his belt, and was a local legend, idol, mentor, and friend to many North Central Nebraska and South Central South Dakota racers. He was a racer from the old school and a fierce competitor behind the wheel every time he got on the track. He loved racing and took great pride in his son's achievements, as well as being a loving family man and steward of the land in his family farming operation.
Funeral services are set for this Friday, at 10:30AM at the Methodist Church in Valentine. Visitation is Thursday afternoon at Sandoz Chapel of the Pines in Valentine.
Marv was a great friend to me and most all racers and many other people from this area. He will be greatly missed by many, many people. My condolences, prayers, and the offer to do anything I can to help in this tough time or in the future go out to his entire family. The 21x car will live on in our memories forever.

Sorry to hear that 31x. If you go to the funeral tell tyler Iam sorry to here about his dad.
