Speedy,
I was looking at wearing the under-armour product under my firesuit and nomex underwear, I know it would help keep me cool, but are there any negatives to fire protection witht hese materials.

I've never done a flame test on UnderArmour but since most of the man made fabrics designed to pull moisture (sweat) away from your skin are made from nylon with some other fibers mixed in, I would say that it will melt when exposed to high heat. This is a BAD thing and you definetly don't want to be wearing anything that will melt to your skin. As far as the cooling effect goes, I'm not sure how effective it will be anyway, being buried under your nomex undies and firesuit. The cooling effect comes from the materials ability to transport the sweat away from you skin, allowing for evaporation. I don't think that much sweat will evaporate with all the other layers on top of the UnderArmour. Just stick with the nomex and firesuit and drink plenty of water before and after the race and you'll be better off.
