Awards & Accomplishments | 2002 - 3 Feature wins, several Top 10's, 9th in Points at NRP. 2003 - 1 Feature win, several Top 10's, 5th in Points at NRP. 2004 - 6th in Points, a few Top 5's, several Top 10's, Hobby Stock Most Popular Driver Award. 2005 - 4 Feature wins, LOTS of bad luck, a few Top 10's, 11th in Points, but Points were not a factor this year as I didn't make The Chase. 2006 - 5th in Points, several Top 5's, Best Appearing Hobby Stock Award. 2007 - Sold the car and retired from racing as of now, unless someone is looking for a driver. | Career Summary | Dumb luck I guess. | Racing Goals | Just have fun and not have to work on the car all the time. | Other Interesting Team Information | In 2002 I stopped looking at the Points sheet each week as it was a jinx to me all year.
In 2003 I won a race wearing a pair of SpongeBob boxers over my driving suit that a fan had given me for my birthday during intermission. I believe it made her day and mine when I forgot that I had them on til I was getting out of the car. Now I must put them on the car every week as a flag. Also I have several SpongeBob stickers on the car. That continues to be a favorite with the kids in the stands.
In 2005 once again I had pulled out the old pair of boxer shorts and raced with them, won the race, and surprised everyone getting out of the car with them on again. I believe the fans loved it in the stands. Well the luck stayed with me as I won 3 more times at the end of the year. So the end of the season turned out better than when we started.
For 2006 I had a new car. I ran the April 1 special at I-80, but had problems in hot laps, with no power steering and carb problems. Ran 2nd in the heat race but had the car set up too free for the Feature and finished 9th. Not too bad for the first time in the car. Had 3 Top 5 finishes and one DNF.
For 2007 I sold the racecar and am planning on helping other people out unless someone lets me drive their car. |
