468 big-block Chevy 14.4-1 compression on alcohol Eagle rods and crank MSD 7 AL 2-stage ignition MSD distributor New AED alcohol carburetor ($1000) New belt drive fuel pump ($500) 400 transmission with stall convertor Blow proof bell housing 33-15-5 rear tires-new rims 26 x 7 x 50 -- 15 fronts-new rims 456 gears It is really set up for a � mile. Change gears and get the time down. I have time slips 6.536 seconds at 107.21 mph in 1/8 mile. It has run as fast as 6.38 at 114.
ENGINE FRESHENING
Engine rebuilt: Disassembled. Angle Mill heads .110 and corrected all surfaces. Honed block with plate. Deck and square block for proper quench. Crank polished. Other gaskets and seals. Head gaskets Felpro #1097. Oil pan one piece Felpro. King H.P. rod and main bearings. Intake gaskets. Hastings file fit race rings. Disassembled heads, lap valves-cleaned and assembled. Fly cut pistons for proper angle plus VTP clearance. 3/8 inch guide plates. Stainless intake bolts. Push rods custom length Intake 8.480 ex. 9.300. Cleaned and assembled engine. Cleaned and deburred pistons. Rod checked and main bearing clearance rods = .0025 mains = .0032. Thrust clearance = .0045. Rod side clearance = .020. File fit rings = 1st at .018. 2nd at .018. Cut and re-welded push rod guide plates for rocker alignment. Checked for proper rocker geometry. Valves adjusted. Degree harmonic balance and check for true top-dead-center Cleaned and checked oil pump and weld pick up to pump. C. C. and check true compression ration = 14.4-1. Average deck height = .006. 23 ft lbs. to turn over short block. Valve to piston clearance-int = 11 ex. = .130.
