44 total A Feature & Special Event wins. | Career Summary | I started racing in 1983 in Pueblo, Colorado on a 1/5 mile asphalt track in a Bomber class. I began racing on dirt in Nebraska in 1986 in Enduro races. I began running Pro Am in 1992 and moved up to Limited Late Model in 1997, running regularly through 2019. I then phased more into a Crew Chief role for my daughters' Karting and SportMods, but I began driving their SportMods when occasions allow in 2018. | Racing Goals | To win another Track Championship and reach 50 Feature wins. | Other Interesting Team Information | My original car number (93) was chosen because I wanted something unique. I had never seen another car with that number at the time. When I started Pro Am, 93 was taken and the closest number available was 97, which I used until 1996 when my radio station sponsor at the time switched their frequency from 105.3 to 98.1. I simply added one to my number and, with permission from the race tracks I competed at, changed it to 98 in the middle of the 1996 season. The sponsorship lasted through the 2001 season. In 2002 my wife and I went for a new look with our team cars and switched to numbers 9 and 9x. I've always had a 9 in my number. An ongoing streak of nearly 20 years with never missing a weekly race show at my weekly tracks I race at came to an end in July 2012 when my arm was badly broken in a wreck at I-80 Speedway, forcing an early end to the season. After surgery and a lot of therapy, I was able to return to racing in 2013. In 2015 our two daughters Amber and Lauren started racing Cage Karts and have both won numerous races, features, and Championships. Both moved up to SportMod, Amber in 2017 and Lauren in 2022. |
