Awards & Accomplishments | 2001 - 10th in the Points at Dawson County Raceway. 2013 - 2nd in Points and 1 Feature win at Dawson County Raceway, 5th in Points, 2 heat wins, and 2 Feature wins at Lincoln County Raceway. | Career Summary | I became involved in racing when I went to my dad's races in the late 70's and early 80's at Dawson County Raceway. I have always enjoyed going to the races and finally got my chance to race. I raced in the Street Stock class for two years in 2000-2001. My first year was just a building year and the second year was a little better. I had to hang it up after that for awhile and finally got the chance to do it again with the Front Wheel Drive class. | Racing Goals | Just to go out and have a good time, whether be 1st or 15th!! | Other Interesting Team Information | I don't really have any rituals before races. I just try to stay calm and do what I can to not get nervous. A kind of funny story happened in 2001 at Dawson County Raceway. We had just put a new motor in my car and it was really fast. In the heat race I started 8th and was just passing for 2nd place when the steering wheel came off in my hands going into the corner. Luckily for me there are no guardrails in the corners because I went off the corner at pretty much full speed. Needless to say I got a little altitude before I landed on the back side of the corner, slid through two ditches and lightly bumped a tree. That was rather scary, but the whole event was pretty funny a couple days later. It's been some time since I've raced and I finally have my chance to get back on the track in a car. I just hope to keep it on all fours and be able to load it on the trailer every race night under its own power. |
