Martin Dominates Deshler

The Malvern Bank 360 Sprint Car Series Points Leader added to his advantage after the tour’s Sunday trip to Thayer County Speedway.
The 3/8 mile oval at the Thayer County Fairgrounds in Deshler, Nebraska played host to round 3 of the 2023 season for the series. A total of 19 cars made the trip to southern Nebraska for the speedway’s Spring Creek Showdown.
After three quick heat races which were won by Riley Goodno, Shayle Bade and Jason Martin, Knoxville, Iowa’s Goodno sat on pole position for the 25-lap main event with Martin on the outside of the front row. Martin capitalized on his starting spot and took the lead from Goodno on the opening lap. The Lincoln, Nebraska would not relinquish the lead for the rest of the race.
Austin McCarl and Tim Estonson both put in solid performances and tried to use both high and low lanes and lapped traffic to their advantages, but neither of them had enough to catch Martin.
After 25 caution-free laps, Martin would take the win making him the first repeat winner on the tour after he won the season opening round at Shelby County Speedway. McCarl took second in his first outing with the series, and Estenson finished third. Nebraskans Ryan Roberts and Joey Danley would round out the top five.
The Malvern Bank 360 Sprint Car Series will take a 2-week break before returning to action on Saturday, May 13th when the tour joins up with the MSTS Sprint Series at the Off-Road Speedway in Norfolk, Nebraska. The tour will then finish out the month of May on Sunday the 28th with their third visit of the year to Shelby County Speedway in Harlan, Iowa.
