The Racing action in the Kansas and Nebraska area is underway in full swing.

Junction Motor Speedway in McCool Junction, NE hosted the first races of the 2004 season in the area with the USMTS Frostbuster on March 12 and 13. Kelly Shryock won the feature on the 12th of March in what was a wild and wacky A Feature with both Tony Gregg and Corey Dripps both rolling their cars in the Main Event and sustaining severe damage. A total of 72 modifieds checked in the pits for the evening.

On March 13th Mark Noble picked up the win over Kelly Shryock with the top 2 swapping positions from the previous nights A Feature. This night proved to less severe damage wise with no cars rolling but many suffered mechanical failures.

On March 19-21 the 11th Annual IMCA Spring Nationals were held at Beatrice Speedway. The car count was down a little from previous years with 78 modifieds racing for the 28 starting spots in the $5000 to win feature. It was a perfect weekend for racing for this early in the year in Nebraska. Friday night Myron Deyoung of Crystal Michigan won the pole dash to earn the right to start on the inside of Row 1. On Saturday David Murray Jr of Oberlin Kansas earned the right to start outside the front row. Deyoung then went on too hold off challenges by both Chris Alcorn and David Trauernicht to pick up the biggest win of his career.

On March 20th the Beatrice Speedway hosted the IMCA Spring Fling for the IMCA Stock Cars and Mark Zorn picked up the win.

The United States Modified Touring Series had a race at Thunderhill Speedway at Mayetta Kansas on March 19th and 20th and had a fantastic car count in the 70's also with Kelly Shryock picking up the wins both night making that 4 on the season with the USMTS.

On March 26th Junction Motor Speedway hosted Day 1 of their IMCA Modified, Stock and Hobby Stocks. They had 32 Modified, 30 plus Stocks and 30 plus stocks in the pits and the pole for modifieds was won by Johnny Saathoff the pole for the IMCA Stocks was won by Chris Ulrich and BJ Dauer for the IMCA Hobbies and then the ever famous weather gods stepped in and caused postponements until Friday April 2nd with the green flag being thrown at 7:00pm.

Beatrice Speedway was to have a play day test and tune on the 27th of March but that has been moved until Tuesday the 30th from 6-9 pm and the Women For Racing will have their annual car show on April 3rd from 1-3 at the fairgrounds with the 2004 race season getting underway that evening with opening night that evening with the green flag waving at 6:00 pm.

Scott Schwab will be racing in the Limited Modifieds at Beatrice Speedway in the former Robbie Marsh BMS Modified.

Jet Racing had their annual Open House on March 20th with Hooters Girls serving Hot Wings and everyone enjoying themselves with the specials in the store and all of the Bench Racing.
